We spent a full day on the water with Captain Lorin (Fish of the Gitch), and he was outstanding. His knowledge, experience, and passion for fishing made all the difference on a slow-bite Saturday. We still put double-digit fish in the boat, including Lakers, Coho Salmon, and—my personal highlight—a 28-inch Walleye I’ve been chasing for 30 years. While other groups reported tough conditions and very few fish, we were fortunate to have steady action all day. Thank you, Captain Lorin. It couldn’t have been more enjoyable. I’ve posted a picture of my prized catch and our lunchtime stop—hoping to add a few more soon.

t was my first time fishing and I had a great experience. Lorin brought every piece of gear you could imagine and really knows the lake. He made sure we stayed on fish all day — we even ended up turning some back because we had plenty. He was patient, helpful, and easy to be around. Highly recommend!

Trip - Full Day Guided Fishing Trip On Lake Superior - Trout, Salmon And More on August 5, 2017

We spent the day fishing with Captain Lorin, and he truly made it one to remember. His expertise, calm approach, and clear love for what he does made all the difference—especially with the bite being slow across the lake on Saturday. Despite the tough conditions, we brought in double digits, including lake trout, coho salmon, and the highlight for me—a surprise 28-inch walleye! I’ve been chasing a big one for three decades, and finally landed it. While others were reporting a tough day with minimal action, we were lucky to be on the right boat with the right guide. Huge thanks to Captain Lorin—this trip was everything I hoped for and more. I’ll try to upload a few more photos later, including my walleye and a midday shot from our lunch break!
